In 2010 each private lesson and group class will be themed to include classical Hatha Yoga philosophies and traditional teachings.
Each session will include yoga postures, deep relaxation skills, meditation practices and readings with a specific focus on the following aspects of 'wellbeing'.
Room to breathe - (Yoga & Breath)
There is great wisdom in the expression ‘take a deep breath’ - sometimes the most important step we can take is to slow down and inhale a long, quenching breath. In truth, when the breath is calm, so is the mind.
Thinking makes it so - (Yoga & Thought)
We flourish & grow through sustaining positive thought. Positive thoughts reflect our self-acceptance; purpose in life; mastery; relationships with those around us; and our contribution to humanity.
In the moment - (Yoga & Mindfulness)
As the insightful Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh once prescribed: “Don’t just do something, sit there!” We need to worry less, live more and to rest often in order ‘see’ clearly. To ‘live’ is to be in the moment. To exist is to forget how to ‘live’.
What on earth am I here for? - (Yoga & Purpose)
We all have unique abilities and talents. It is our responsibility to serve the needs of the earth utilizing these special skills. When we match the world’s needs with our expertise, then our ‘purpose’ is realized.
Be quiet - (Yoga & Rest)
Do you struggle being 'silent' for fear of what you might confront? Do you struggle to sleep, rest, find serenity, live calmly, see clearly, enjoy each moment and to live with a sense of adventure and vitality?
Deep relaxation techniques are the best means to revitalize and reconnect.
Reason to smile - (Yoga & Happiness)
If we invest in ‘peace of mind’ and emanate tranquility to all those with whom we come in contact, it is then that we come to realize true ‘happiness’. The larger the investment in the relationship we have with ourself and others, the greater the return.
Let it Be - (Yoga & Detachment)
"Just as the bird has to find the courage to let go of the branch in order to fly, so we also need to let go of our brances if we are to know the exhilaration of soaring to our hightest potential." The 7AHA!s of Highly Enlightened Souls.
Now Listen Carefully - (Yoga & Listening)
Mike George, spiritual teacher and author, expresses that we innately know who we really are and what is truly authentic. Our conscience (which lies at the core of our heart) is our receptacle of truth and wisdom. We are often conditioned by external influences and thus we become disconnected from ourselves and in turn from those around us. How can we listen and therefore respond with more attention?
You won't know Yourself- (Yoga & the Self)
You won't know yourself when you learn to know yourself. So who are you when you discard the labels? Who are you without anything to represent you? What is your instrinsic nature and how do we live a life of freedom, beauty and spirituality by our most authentic means?
With all my heart - (Yoga & Kindness)
If we spend a few moments each evening reflecting upon what we have received today and what we have given today, then we may understand the essence of compassion and kindness. In doing so, we may further our understanding of true happiness.
